Disability Equipment Sales Consultant

 

NorthAble are seeking a self-motivated and confident person with retail, customer service, and administrative skills for this 40hr p/week position.  The successful applicant requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to relate well to a wide variety of people.  Product training will be provided. The position is based in Whangarei with occasional travel to expos/shows and delivery of equipment.    

Usual hours will be  8.30am - 5.00pm Monday – Friday.  In addition, there is a Saturday morning roster (9.00am – midday) approx every 3-4 weeks.  Flexibility will be required for occasional after hours or weekend Expo / Show attendance.

The successful applicant will have:

ESSENTIAL

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in administration and maintenance of system management tools including Shopify Website, VEND Point of Sale (training will be provided), and ACCESS Database and Microsoft applications
  • a high level of accuracy in all areas of stock inventory management
  • ability to achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall service targets
  • Availability to work on rostered Saturday shifts and attend and assist at trade fairs/expos on weekends as required
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Support of the scheduled monthly mobile van service across Northland as required
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and complete work in expected timeframes/deadlines
  • Customer service/sales experience
  • Cash handling skills / POS experience
  • Shop display, stock control, and marketing experience
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, spelling, and grammar
  • Excellent time management and the ability to plan effectively and work within established processes and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a wider team
  • Honesty and reliability
  • A clean and full drivers licence (ability to drive both a manual Ford Transit van and automatic vehicles)
  • Physical capability for occasional heavy lifting
  • The right to live and work in New Zealand and pass a Ministry of Justice check

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in the Disability Sector 
  • Some knowledge of Maori tikanga
